The Razor MX650, Product Overview
When I was a kid, I can only say I wish we had these bikes. For one, this thing is almost bicycle quiet. Why you ask do I care about it being quiet, because I love the fact that the people right next door will only hear the screams of you on your Razor having a blast. Razor has come so far from that little scooter that they made back in 2000.
These things are made to look like those motocross giants, you watch at the races. The more I look into these razor MX 650, the more I want one for around my house. I like that they keep upgrading the suspension, front and back. The motor is getting more torque to the rear tire. The tires have come a long way as well. First off they are actual tires not some plastic wheel with the nobs molded in. Having the disk brakes is very nice to have on front and the back.
Let’s do a little conversation about the heart of these machines, the Battery. From what I can see, you get about 45 minutes of use out of the battery depending on how you are riding the bike. Sustained riding will drain the battery the least amount, Doing a lot of start and stopping will use it up quickly. The battery will take about 12 hours to fully charge. Also for all of you who bought one of these to modify, it is my understanding that you cannot modify the batteries in any way, to get more life out of them.
So how bout the fact that you and your family, by getting one of these crazy electric machines are doing your part to be a little more green, and a little more environmentally friendly. Let’s not forget those angry neighbors, who won’t even hear you go by.Let’s face it we all want to do a little part in making our children s lives better in the future.
The manual cover some good trouble shooting, and the razor company for the most part gets right back to you on any and all problems with their bikes. They tell you about some of the safety warnings, how to charge the battery and keep it from over charging. They have their pre – ride check list, repair and maintenance. It definitely covers the more important stuff, that you should know about your machine.
Breaking it out of the box
The first thing you are going to have to do is get excited about this box in front of you that you just got delivered. The second thing is take the box apart so you can start putting together your new bike. If you take of the corners of the box, the rest off the box will lift right off. There is not a lot to put together. You have the front tire, handle bars. Right about now would be a good time to read on how to get that battery out and start charging, cause 12 hours is going to seem like an eternity.
Learning a few safety tips before you get started riding, is always a great idea. also, hopefully before you had this dirt bike sent to you, you have got all of you proper P.P.G. ( proper protective gear ), if not make sure you get some education on this matter. Be safe not sorry, right.
- Easy to use
- Simple to set up
- Looks very good
- Quality construction
- Very sturdy
- Comes in a few colors
- Good battery life
- Some people say it is too expensive, but honestly have they tried to find a gas dirt bike at this price.
- Not too much different from the MX500 series.
- Some say it is a little heavy, but once again see what a gas one weighs.
- Some come with some problems out the box, but honestly these days I am not surprised if one out of 50 have any problems at all. But the good thing is just call them up and they are eager to help you fix any and all problems that you might have.
- Some say it is a little too bulky, I say that means its sturdy.
I have a great admiration for all of these Electric bikes that Razor has come out with. Quite honestly I feel as if they will be just as good as gas bikes if not better in the long run. Let’s just say for now that these bikes are headed to the top of their class, in future Razors to come. But for right now, kids of all ages can get one of these bikes, and have the time of their lives on it. Just remember you must practice safe riding, and have your gear on all the time. Its that one time that you don’t have it on, that’s the time you will take the risk of getting hurt. That is no fun for anyone.
SOMETHING TO BE SAID
Here I am typing away telling you the consumer, what I think of this Razor dirt bike. But what I would really like is for you to tell me, your life experiences with these fast machines. I want to know if you think the same way or if you have different experiences. One thing for sure, these bikes are climbing faster by the year, so get one, climb on board, and hit the trails. Let’s have fun. Face it these are very fun to ride, so what are you waiting for.
